 PRAYER!

WE SPEAK TO G OD

In His three years with them, Jesus taught His Disciples, and us, about the close connection between faith in Him and prayer.  If we stop praying, we fall asleep spiritually. We may still be spiritually alive, but we become unaware of God’s gracious dealing with us.  In everything that happens to us, God is training us to become people of prayer, wakeful people who take Him at His Word and receive from Him His gifts. As disciples of Jesus, we therefore are called to live faith in a life of prayer.

Join us on Wednesday evenings in Pastor’s office to begin the first in a study from the Lutheran Spirituality Series: Prayer!  We Speak to God by John Kleining, led by Tonya P. We begin September 22nd at 7 pm and end at 8 pm for those parents of LIGHT children and all who to study. We’ll see you there.

ANNUAL LLL  FISH FRY 

St. John Lutheran Church/LLL Annual Fish Fry will be held Sunday, September 26, from 5 - 7 PM. The Fish Fry is all you can eat. The menu will include: fried catfish, hamburgers, creamed cheese potatoes, relishes, watermelon, coffee and ice tea. A free will offering will be taken. Monies raised will be given to the Kansas LLL District Project and St. John’s Library Fund.

The sub-committees chairperson are:

• Fish Fryers - Marlin I.
• Potatoes & Relish - Karen S.
• Watermelon - Ron R.
• Drinks - Larry P.
• Hamburger Fryers - Walt R.
• Tablewaiters/servers - Kelly M.
• Table and Chairs - Spencer P.
• Welcoming Table - Paul T.

Work assignment lists will be placed in church mailboxes soon. Please let your chairperson know if you will be unable to help with this important community outreach. If anyone has questions about this years Fish Fry, please contact Kenton A. (793-9208) or Jeff T. (564-3233) co-chairmen.
